Simplot Games 2012

Summer Harper, Jac, and Candace Greenwood

 Pocatello Idaho; home to the Simplot Games...Known for the fastest track in the northern states. This wooden track is only 200 meters (meaning 16 times around for the 2 mile!) with banked sides.
Jac was so excited to see what time she could get until...

She got SICK! 
Yes, very sick in fact; but if you know Jac and her positive attitude, she pushed through.
It wasn't her best time; not by a long shot BUT she still qualified for the finals on Thursday and then finished in 8th place on Saturday.
Races like this are great learning experiences :)
Jac realized that she was still faster sick than her best time last year! Pretty impressive I must say! We are so  proud of her!!!!! (is that enough exclamation points?)

It's never fun to be down but it definitely helps you appreciate the up times :)

Happy Valentines Day!

Emily and Jac made this AMAZING Rupunzel Tower Valentine's Day box... WOW! Is all I can say :)

And the "Best of the Best" first place prize went to...EMILY!

Valentines was full of hearts...even in Emily's hair :)

The kids had to fend for themselves this year...Matt took me on a DATE! Sorry kids :)

Luckily, he said YES!

SNOWSHOEING was the activity of the day!

They had a blast in the snow. In fact, they only had 30 minutes to get ready for the night time festivities. Good thing they are quick at getting cleaned up!

After a wonderful dinner at the Dustin's; it was time for a photo shoot with their personal photographer...Thayne Edwards

As you can see, they had a great time taking photos!

After the dance, they headed to our house for some Thai sweet mango sticky rice for dessert

Jac's first official date was a SUCCESS! Good thing she hangs out with such great friends :)

We were SOO LUCKY to have Gracie and Justin spend a few days with us...

They know how to have fun no matter where they are! Even at a track meet for 6 hours!

Justin wasn't so sure about a "Tangled" picnic but I assured him he was still manly!

Our brave girl

It seems Emily has been through so much. A little ear tube surgery would be so simple...
My heart ached for her as she voiced her anxiety for the past few days.

 She even asked Matt for a blessing.
"Iggy" and her pillow pet helped calm her a bit as big crocodile tears fell from her cheeks as I told her goodbye.
A little surgery? Yes, but not so little for my Emily

Cleopatra

Emily had a book report on Cleopatra for school.
She was SO excited to make her paper doll with our wonderful friend and neighbor Mary. (She helped Jac and Thomas with theirs too!)
Emily knew EXACTLY what she wanted to do and Mary was happy to help out!

The Childrens museum

One of the perks of being a stay at home mom is that I get to do on field trips!
I went with Emily's class to the Childrens museum and watched as the kids got to meet the weather guy from KSL. They loved doing a science experiment and being on the afternoon news!

Emily LOVES to be on TV :)
