Our little runner girl...

It was a bitter sweet day. Emily's last meet of the season...
Emily is going to be having surgery on her ear which will keep her from any active sports for the rest of the summer. It's a good step towards getting a cochlear implant; but a big change in plans from our usual summer activities :)

Emily ran the 100 meter dash (yes these girls are her age!)

My favorite picture!

The Long Jump is one of her favorites!

The 400...

Emily has had a great season! We have had so much fun cheering her on:)

Congrats Emily!

Coach Rowe is so lucky to coach both of our girls!

Since the meet was at East High (where Highschool Musical was filmed) The kids had to make a little stop in front of this "historical' site.

It's Summer Time!

Emily had a few friends over for a SUMMER LATE NIGHT!

Mia, Faith, Cambry, Emily, and Maddie
It was hard to have fun :)

Cookie decorating is always fun with friends!
especially when you frost them with blue "Smurf Poop", green "Grass Goop" and of course purple "Road Runner Spit"
VERY appetizing don't you think!!!?

Happy Summer Everyone!

Timpanogos meet

Emily's first USATF meet!

Here she is ready for the 1500...

4 times around the track is hard work!

She was AMAZING coming in with a 7:53!

It's so fun to watch her jump!

The 100 meter dash...
Getting tips from Coach Rowe!

Way to go Emily!!

Remembering...

This Memorial Day was special
We took some time to reflect on WHY we have Memorial Day...

We spent the afternoon visiting Grandpa Don and thanking him for his service in World War II. He told us stories of flying in planes just like the one pictured below. How tender these memories are...

Grandpa has always had a soft spot for Thomas. He gave him his flight suit a few years ago and he is looking forward to giving Thomas his wings when he receives his Eagle.
As we were about to leave Grandpa started to cry. He told us that when he dies there will be a flag presented at the grave site. He wants Thomas to have it.
What an honor....What a sweet, good, kind and wonderful man.

We love you Grandpa Don!

Dance Festival

Emily LOVED dancing with the 4th grade!

She did an AMAZING job :)
I love these pictures because she has such a sweet smile! It has been a tough year for her. She has lost more hearing; making it impossible for hearing aids to be turned up loud enough to make a difference. She gets about 15% of what is being said around her. She has been SO TOUGH! Going to school, determined to do her best while only catching small amounts of whats going on. I can't even imagine what it must be like. She has been so BRAVE!
We are all praying for a cochlear implant this summer...it will make ALL the difference!

WE LOVE YOU EM!

Emily's first track meet

The first inner squad meet!
Emily wasn't very impressed. She says it doesn't count as a "real" meet :)

100 meter dash...

Look at that form!

The High Jump!

She gave it her best effort!

The Long Jump...

Gotta love that smile!

Way to go Emily!
