How's track going???

Who needs warm days to run??

So far, the meets have been on the coldest days of the week... LUCKY, aren't we?! As you can see, it doesn't stop the kids from having a blast!

Jac is having a great season so far.  Here's her latest :

 mile time has gone from 5:41 to 5:33

2 mile time is 12:30 

 800 has gone from 2:36 to 2:31

The big dance!

Our little girl is growing up!
She went to the 9th grade night dance on Saturday...

Even though most of her friends were in Las Vegas at a soccer tournament or too WIMPY to go to a dance; Jac and Min dressed up, looked BEAUTIFUL, and enjoyed themselves!

It was a "night to remember"
I think their favorite part was going to Roxberry after for frozen yogurt! Especially with Matt in his pajama bottoms, socks and flip flops and crazy hair. (Yes, it was a last minute decision!) There isn't much this Dad won't do for his daughter! 

Knowledge Bowl 2011

This is the 3rd year Thomas has competed in the Knowledge Bowl. This year the topic was HISTORY!

The kids start studying pages and pages of information in November so they can be ready to compete against other schools in our district.

As we sit and watch the 4 different games I am in AWE at what these kids know!

(I am proud to say I knew about 5 answers out of about 75!)

These kids did AMAZING; they 
WON. EVERY. SINGLE. ROUND!!! 
Finishing in the top 10  out of 48 teams!Ya Hoo!

Jac received some very well deserved awards:

The captains gave her the
"FROG" award 
because she is fast in the water AND on land

Scholar Athlete award for having a 3.0 or above average... she just happens to have a 4.0 average!

AND

She was voted
"SWIMMER OF THE MEET" at STATE

The kids that swam in EVERY event this year got this very cool t-shirt!

Futsal 2011

Thomas' soccer team divides their team in half and plays futsal in the winter months.
Futsal is basically a faster, quicker version of soccer... we just get to be warm while watching :)

It's tricky to get good pictures of this kid... He is too fast!

The team was undefeated in their division. The final game was against the other 1/2 of the Arsenal team.

It was a tough game but Thomas' team won 6-4!

6th Grade Dance

I wondered if Thomas would have fun at the dance since he's so shy and timid most of the time.

Hmmm... WHAT DO YOU THINK??

The kids danced for 2 hours! It was so fun to watch them practice the moves they had learned. They danced as a group and even had partners! They actually danced instead of turning around in circles like I used to do when I went to dances...so boring!

What's a dance without good food? These kids know how to throw a party! They had a FEAST... veggie trays, chips, cookies, donuts, AND a chocolate fountain with fruit and candy galore!!!

Here's a few of Thomas' great friends. No wonder he loves going to school!

Let's hope the junior high dances are this good... :)

Jac raced against one girl and all the boys. It was cold and raining. All the kids were excited to get it over with and go home :) She had no one around to push her and she still came in first place at 13:20 (I think) It will be fun to see how she does at the invitational next week against 25 schools!
