THE RACE!

Jacqueline has had a great season this year. She has reached her goal to make it to State in 2 events.
Jacqueline has always focused on improving her times and hasn't cared much about what the swimmers next to her were doing. (much to Matt's demise)
Jacqueline decided to take a different approach today and fight for 1st place. She looked great and kept tight like a "torpedo" as she made her turns. She was behind for the first 3 laps but on the 4th lap she passed the girl in 1st place and beat her by more than a body length!!! She was determined to reach her goal. She was strong, she stayed focused and gave it her all.
The girl she beat has been racing against her all season and come in first each time; until today that is :) (The girl was SO devastated!)
Jacqueline told us it was the first time she actually RACED to win. It was amazing to see the difference. She had fun and felt so great for pushing to the finish!
As always, Jacqueline has a great cheering section. Jeff and Amber came for their date night as well as Grandma and Grandpa Whiting.
It's so wonderful to feel so much love and support from everyone even if they can't be there in person :)
This is what sports are all about. We learn to push ourselves and improve in ways that we never thought possible.
Way to go Jac!

Doesn't surprise me one bit that she came through! She is always a CHAMPION In my book though! She was born one...saving her sister's life to wonning a meet.. she is a champion!

And I am not surprised that Dad (Grandpa) Whiting has his ear bud in either!! hahaha
